fyp-devotion for a scroll

my project entitled "study of wound healing effects of Channa sp. on fibroblast cells"

what is Channa sp.? Its a species of freshwater fish commonly found in most asian freshwaters region. Snakehead is their native name..But, to be precise, in Malaysia, it is known as "ikan haruan" (since there are many any kinds of snakehead in here such as toman and bujuk)...

Bet you guys know this product-"polleney's extract of haruan@pati ikan haruan polleney"...well...., my project has nothing to do with it...hehe

more or less, my project begins with catching the fish that lives wild(supposedly =P), get the fillet of its muscle (the flesh that we eat), and proceed with the "hard-to-do" extraction procedure in order to obtain 2 kinds of extract- crude fats and proteins..(done with the fat...alhamdulillah~)

Next, biochem analysis; gcms for the fat contents and spectro&SDS-PAGE for the total proteins...(currently trying to pass this stage -_- )

At the same timt, im working on sub-culturing the HaCaT cells..(it supposed to be fibroblast but my supervisor changed it to HaCaT...just follow without hesitation....well, he's the boss,right??..hehe)
to be honest, this stage is fun and interesting...
after some times, i will scratch the cells (this action represent the wound formation)... (T_T-the cell's crying...its painful!!)

ok, next..!!! the extract will be applied onto the cell culture...
and i'll observe and measure the cell's proliferation activity...
and compare this with the control (without extract)..
by assuming that the extract is having the potential for wound healing, the cells with the extract should be proliferate faster than those who are not...

i think, that's all for the project...i'm still in the first-entering second stage out of TEN!!! there's far way more to go...~~~

since this started, my whole life-mind and soul, is all about ikan haruan.....huuu~ n_n
